Starproject Studios History

Starproject Studios started about 7 years ago under the name E.R. Design. Founder Steve Hubbard had studied graphics in High School, went on to study it in college and went out into the job market with a solid set of graphic design skills. His first paying computer graphics job was for Metro Signs designing large store front signs around the Columbus, OH metro area. Finding this job not enough of a challenge he moved on to doing advertising design for a Advanced Printing, where he designed advertising/marketing art for clients such as Kroger Inc., and several other large name companies. While working at Advanced he learned a lot more about design but was intrigued by a new form of design, new media design.

So in 1997 Steve got a job at a local Internet provider and started working on learning web design, specifically Flash animation/design. This new form of media was amazing and challenging. Being able to have users interact with the art blew the doors off static design elements. He was hooked. Working day and night he tried new things, different ways of designing websites and other forms of animation. He then got his first big break, he got a job working for PPSI Studios, where he was exposed to many new opportunities.

Working at PPSI Studios Steve was let go to design numerous fully animated Flash sites, including Ricard Fords first Flash website. Also well working at PPSI, he was introduced back to a media that he worked with before, video. He worked on Video Toaster systems using Lightwave 3D. At PPSI Steve produced two commercial 3D animation spots for Ricart Ford as well as 3D graphics for ads that were printed in the Columbus Dispatch. Working at PPSI he learned so much well in production of this various works. PPSI went thru re-structuring and Steve got a job as a New Media Director for The Web People, his first job managing people.

At The Web People Steve developed skills in working with people and clients. He was thrown into various arenas of work from 3D animation to interactive design. He also developed a very valuable skill here, he learned to deliver are extremely tight deadlines. It honed his focus on projects and made him a better designer overrall. While working at The Web People, the company went thru drastic personal changes and Steve decided to take a job at a technology company, ANI technology as a New Media director.

During the time of his various full-time jobs, Steve operated a freelance business...formly known as E.R. Design, now Starproject Studios. Having left ANI technology, he know runs Starproject Studios full-time offereing services from 3d animation to Corporate identification. We hope that you enjoyed this history of the company and have fun looking at the various services we offer here. Thank you.
